Dr. Lisa Gunderson (African Heritage Association of Vancouver Island)
Dr. Lisa Gunderson is a psychology instructor at Camosun College, and the registered clinical counsellor at the Lau Welnew Tribal School. She is the community liaison for the African Heritage Association of Vancouver Island, a board member for the Victoria Immigrant and Refugee Center Society, and a representative to the Victoria Confederation of Parent Advisory Councils. Dr. Gunderson conducts workshops and is a frequent guest speaker at K-12 and post-secondary institutions in departments of education and psychology. A former California tenured professor, she has received numerous awards for her work and teaching in the past 17 years. She serves as a senior equity consultant for educational, and organizational institutions focusing on issues that impact racialized and other minoritized populations. She lives in Victoria with her family and enjoys traveling, baking, and movies.
